Argos: hijacking the news agenda with Bridgerton

When TV series Bridgerton hit Netflix earlier this year it caused a sensation. Media, influencers, friends and family were talking non-stop about this steamy period drama!

Sensing the media and public appetite for all things Bridgerton, our team of media hounds put their heads together to see how our clients could tap into this cultural phenomenon.

Our response?

The idea was simple, release the news that Argos has seen a 112% increases of searches of four poster beds since the series launched.


The story took on a life of its own with nationals including The Sun, Daily Mirror, MailOnline (twice!), and Ideal Home all covering. Broadcast hits included This Morning, Jeremy Vine, and Loose Women as well as a swathe of local and national commercial radio stations such as 5 Live and Heart.

Every piece of coverage included an Argos brand mention at least once, reach to rival Lady Whistledown herself!
